Khet is a lamp inspired by terraced rice paddies that is a staple of the Nepali hills. It is designed as a living room lamp, with conveying warmth as a design goal. Materials include translucent acrylics and paper.

The curves were hand-sketched based on the curves of a specific set of rice paddy terraces from Jamuna, where my mother was born and spent much of her early life. These rice paddies always fill me with an immense appreciation of the beauty of the curves of the hills that have been dug out with such hard work.
