Just like that

Rangoli at our house during Tihar

Just like that, three months have gone by! Mir and I got in Kathmandu in the beginning of August, and the first three months have gone by like nothing. There has been a lot of family, Dashain and Tihar have come and gone, and we even managed to sneak in a trek. We’ve also been doing a little bit of blogging about life here over at TForTemple.Tumblr.com–you should go check that out!

I haven’t been able to engage seriously with the innovative folk here in Nepal yet. But I’m working hard to make sure to visit Kathmandu Living Labs and Karkhana regularly, and have a small project that I have started for Yantra that I’m pretty excited about.

What I have managed to do is work with some fantastic folk at Ona Systems, as a Data Scientist. We’re building a pretty cool UI for managing mobile data collection, and I’ve had a lot of fun working on the data view pages. I’ve been learning Clojure, Clojurescript, and Om to develop it, which has been a ton of fun. I was worried about programming full time, but after a year of working on a lot of project simultaneously, the focus has actually been a blessing.
